So instead of about 7 years left on the life of the mine, this should add 20-30 years. At 41 years old I should be able to work here for the rest of my working life. Don’t see the Gold market dying anytime soon.

Cool. Reminds me I used to know with a Canadian geologist that hunts for gold and diamonds.

That’s good. Gold is ALWAYS legal tender in Bartertown... and we’ll all be buying TP and bottled water at Bartertown soon.

Great news! Nice to have some career stability ! AEM seems like a good, environmentally responsible mining company. I worked with them on the Meadowbank project.

Yeah but doesn’t canadian gold turn to maple syrup at above freezing temperature?

Since we belong to AEM at 50% we follow or surpass their standards. The water we use is released back in the environment even cleaner than the source. Our safety and environment records are the envy of all gold mines.
I have a few friends that worked/work at meadowbank. My father in law and his 3 sons all work for AEM at laro nde, even I worked there in the 90s as a student summer job.

That’s good to hear. I’m studying environmental resource management with a focus on water management. Arizona has lots of mining operations, many of which have polluted our groundwater. Freeport McMoran runs a lot of these mines. Huge problem with uranium contamination in northern Arizona, where many of the mining companies just abandoned uranium tailings since they were on Indian reservations. There’s thousands of abandoned mines up there.
Did a group project last year with a partner who came from Miami, Arizona, and worked in the FM mine there. His whole goal of getting this degree was to help drop the hammer on the operations down there.
